I was in Edmonton yesterday, visiting, and I thought I would try some local stores for powder as most of my BC suppliers had nothing or close to nothing. Well, to my surprise, Wholesale Sports had nothing, Cabelas had nothing ! P&D ( my favorite store) had tons of powder. Today I am a happy reloader ! I love that store !

So why don't you marry it?!?!

As discussed in other threads, cabelas has a large supply available through their distribution centre in winnipeg.

According to the Saskatoon store they cant order anything in. I would bet its just lazy employees but how would I know the difference. The one here has gone way down hill form the first week they opened.

But that doesn't help when you are visiting another city. So either the store has stock or they don't. The point was made that P&D has powder and to let others know of it not to slam any other stores. Cabelas is a great store and I am a constant buyer there.

I agree with what you said. P-D just got a shipment in but was out for the longest time. I went in there on a regular basis since last spring looking for powder, none till May then Jun then Jul and Aug then they didn't know at all and just got some in. Luck of the draw these days. I managed to get powder at Cabelas on several occasions when nobody else had any. Having it shipped to the store as well means no shipping costs. I have no complaints about Cabelas either and will continue to buy powder there and prices are very reasonable.

Hometownhero: I just ordered 2 lbs of Varget and 2 lbs of H4350 from the Cabelas website. Have it shipped via "in store pick-up" and the shipping is free. They'll give you call when it comes and you're back to shooting.

It's nice to have a store located conveniently near me for these situations, but the shipping costs to a residence is nuts.

Edit: I just checked the Cabela's site, the only Hodgdon powders still listed as in stock are H4350, Varget, and H4831.
