Hi All,
Trying to get a load for .455 Webley MKII. I got my hands on some Titegroup and I've seen some people mention that they use it in the MKII, but I can't find any data for a starting load. I'd appreciate some suggestions, or better yet if someone has the software and was feeling charitable they could throw the above data in and let us know what the computer says...

Could calculate but need more info.
how long is the bullet?
is the bullet flat base or hollow base?
what is OAL of cartridge with bullet seated?

These old low pressure small volume cartridges loaded with heavy bullets are actually quite easy to overload. Seating a bullet .1" deeper can raise pressure by several thousand psi.

Max pressure for the 455 webley MKII cartridge is 13K psi. Quickload estimates that a 260 gr flat base seated .15" would develop 17-18K psi with a 4.5 gr of titegroup. A hollow base 265gr would develop 13K psi. The bullet type and seating depth can make or break your day.

Prior experience suggests that Quickload tends to overestimate pressure in these small volume cases by up to 10% when calculating pressure using Unique, Bullseye, and 231, but i have never loaded Titegroup in the 455 MKII case so i can't say anything about the Quickload results with any degree of certainty.

If you are using a Webley MKI/II/III revolver you need to tread gently, the MKIV and higher Webleys and the S&W 455 revolvers will take a fair bit more pressure. If it were me I would start at 3.5 gr. and if it worked i might not go much higher without doing some more investigation.

And be careful of using data for the 455 Colt Eley and 455 WEbley MKI cartridges - this brass is longer with more powder capacity and those loads will give substantially higher pressure in the 455 Webley MKII cartridge.
