powder charge varies!

i am new to reloading & am just finishing the setup on my XL650 to load .45Colt
i am using Trail Boss powder (small disk/donut shaped)
i have a Lyman 1500 scale
the charges vary between 5.6->5.8g
i might get 2 in a row the same
is it because of the shape of the powder, or is there something that i am missing?

0.2 is ok. If it was throwing an entire grain or more I would have it checked.
I use titegroup on a 550 and have not seen any greater difference than what you speak of.

if you place 0.2 on your scale, you will see how miniscule this amount is.

I get .1 to .2 variation with WST, W231, and several rifle powders using an XL650, it appears to be completely normal. Thats just the accuracy of the powder measure.

Try using the large powder bar it really helps with "bulky" powders
