My old model 94 liked a Sierra 170g bullet and 33g of IMR4064. The velosity was 2185 fps and it made a one hole group at 50 yards. I took several whitetails with this load from 20 ft to 150 yards.
My 30-30 really likes IMR3031 and IMR4895. I use 150gn Sierra's, or 150gn gas checked cast bullets for the range, and Hornady LeverEvolution 160gn FTX for hunting rounds.
