My original plan was to powder coat the barrel and action in a dull cast iron colour but I have to say that the shine is really growing on me. What do you think....powder coat or not?

why spend money just to take a rifle that has an infinitely durable 'finish' into one that will have a finish that youll worry about scratching?
leave it be. plus, the two-tone look looks pretty neat.

put the money towards another gun :)

I had the same dilemma with this rifle....

It is now back at Accurate Action getting bead-blasted, and the action is going to be re-blued in a matte finish. Also swapping out the bolt for one with a shallow fluting pattern and a sako style extractor and some upgraded internals.

Hopefully all is complete before October, as I intend to kill a doe antelope with this rig when the time comes.:D

This gun I would coat, Sheephunters no...at least for me. I am not jazzed about the look of a blued action and a stainlees barrel.

Oddly enough though I love the look of matte rings and scope on stainless action.:confused:
