Powder coat peeling from 10/22 receiver - repair options?

Hey guys,

My 10/22 powder coat started peeling at the ejection port on my 10/22 receiver and it's spreading across the whole receiver.

Any ideas how to repair/refinish to a more durable coating that will look/feel original? What is the best way to remove the remaining powder coat without scratching the hell out of the receiver?

Is this a common issue with these rifles?

Or polish it to a mirror lol. Cerekote would be ideal
