Powder coating jacketed bullets?

I know everyone's first thought is why? I have read a few threads and posts on here about powder coating to increase the bullet diameter on cast bullets to match bore size. I am thinking specifically about 303 British, where factory jacketed bullets are typically undersized by .002" or more. Has anybody tried it and did it work? Did accuracy improve?

Sounds like an interesting concept, but I'd rather start with a cast bullet, but that's just me.

Since .303's bores are all over the map, and add the factor of throat erosion from cordite, this could certainly be an option for someone who isn't a devout leadhead.
The set up might be costly for a one-off trial, but if you have a friend with a PC set-up, you're good.

I would wash your jackets bullets in acetone first, since they might have some lube residue from the forming dies.

If you try it, let us all know how it turns out.

Powder coating to enlarge a bullet -- now that might be a way to get to shoot my .280 Ross rifle. ? I have struggled to swage 7mm's up to .290 or so with mixed success, and have paper-patched some 7mm 140 gr to see what will happen. Any other ideas?

Was reading in the bullet making thread someone's experience on the shake and bake method of powder coating adding a full 002. As long as the powder stuck to the jacket sufficiently I don't know why it wouldn't be worth trying.
