Powder coating system

Been watching videos on powder coating bullets.

Some throw in plastic air soft bb's. Seems to increase the electrostatic charge and coats the bullets better.

I put the bullets and powder in a medium zip lock freezer bag then put that in the #5 container and swirl away. The plastic on plastic seems to generate enough static for me.

I have tried the air soft and can notice no difference in shake & bake without them so quit the bother of using them, they may help in high humidity areas but in the desert of central Ab. not so much.

OCD- maybe- been following what others have told me. To me - it makes sense for the steps, but I certainly get it - you never want to have to clean melted lead from barrel...it is not fun...at all.
And I thought I was the only one who was that OCD. Welcome to the club, brother.

Creating static is not the be-all, end-all. Acetone use is to be avoided. ElvisAmmo pioneered powder coating as far as I know. His process of heating the bullets first, to a temperature that one can hold in their hand without burning, then adding powder coat & swirling is still the best IMNSHO.
It's the gold standard for great powder coating. Employ quality powder & ElvisAmmo's process gives great results.

I own a similar system from a different manufacturer. You need an air compressor. It works quite well, indeed. You need to use a polyester based powder for best results.
