Powder Coating

Some one post a pic of resized PC bullets please. I can't picture the PC surviving the resizing step.

Thanks,

M

Plenty of pics in this forum, start from the beginning

Gee, thanks! 13 pages worth and which ones tell me what a resized boolit turns out like?

I believe you, it's just that my lube/sizer does leave evidence of the resizing processes. I can't picture a coating holding up to that step.

GN, all the PC bullets I showed you when you were at my place had been "sized". I have noticed a slight scuff mark on the odd really hard cast comercial boolits (prob. in the 28 BN range) but nothing on any of my COWW bullets show any damage.

Sometimes the holes in the standard sizing dies can scrape off the coat. This doesn'the seem to happen with the NOE sizing dies, although some bullets seem to need a light coat of oil for the first few.

Well the first batch. With this powder I had done some rifle bullets which turned out lousy. It seems to work bett er with these 9mm bullets. Also modified my casting station so I can bake inside, TGIC or not.

Nice D size electrical drawing covers up most of the front.

Lets discuss the important factor, how has everyones accuracy been? SO far the best ive managed was 13 inch at 100 yards with a 45 colt henry

I tried some of my 30-30 loads with light charge of varget (1650 fps) and was getting 2" 5 shot groups at 100 yards with m94 sights.
My plinking loads I get 1.5" at 45 yards with very light loads. Add a bit more powder and it goes down to .75" at 45 yards. I use the lighter loads though as they are a bit quieter.

With my pistol I get sub 2" at 15 yards from a rest. For me that is excellent as I am not a very good pistol shooter

With a bit more ocdness groups could be a lot smaller. There are guys on cast boolit forum that get some phenomenal accuracy from cast loads.

I got about a 4" five inch group at 100 with my Marlin 44 mag 1894 with Skinner peeps. I'm pretty happy with that. So far only managing 6-8" at 100 with Marlin 1894 in 357 but using irons. More work to do on the 357.

Once I find a scope base I will mount a scope for load development.
