Powder for 308

Any one try IMR 4166? I've came into a couple of cans of it but never tried it yet. Was thinking 150s with it.

 

[IMR4320]

IMR4895 or DA4895 is good for lighter bullets, such as 150/155gr.
IMR4064 or DA4064 is good for 165/168 and possibly 178 but I have never tested the 178

What I have however noticed, IMR powders produced correct velocities, Dominion equivalents were just as accurate but produced 40-80 FPS slower velocities by my measurements, others may have measured more or less.

I've used 4064 with bullets up to 190 gr in 308. Works quite well, so far. Now I just need to find more Speer 190 gr 30 cal bthp match bullets. - dan

I use IMR 4064 for 308 as it has always worked well
However I am going to try some of that sweedish surplus powder that I was using for 8mm mauser and see how it works in 308 as its supposed to be similar to IMR4064
