Powder on hand

How much powder do you store for reloading purposes? I most often have 8-10 pounds. Store it on the shelf above my loading bench.

You are not legally storing powder if its just sitting on the shelf above your re-loading bench.

Moving away from the goody two shoes bulls**t..... I usually have 10-12lbs of powder on hand. I store it in a plastic container.

Stored on a shelf above my loading bench...as my loading/gun room is always secured by a locked door for... obvious reasons. Powder is visable to me, accessable and cool and dry. IMO locking powder in some sealed container other than light wood or plastic is bomb building 101.

Never too little powder, primers or bullets. I am good for brass for this life and several others.

I don't feel like a man..... I am starting to doubt my level of commitment for my hobby!

I only have 12 1-lb containers, some are not "full" so call it 10lbs.

Are there not laws that limit the amount of powder you can keep in a residential domicile?

Getting low on the Varmint powders, but should have enough to carry me through the next couple years. Got enough Magnum stuff for a good 5-7 years, maybe longer since I seem to get less time to shoot every year. }:-(

enough. sold an extra 25lb keg of black last year (c&h) way too cheap. Buy it when u can. 1 or 2 cans at a time doesn't hurt to bad.

In my detached Building Powder Magazine, I've got about 8 pounds. Thank god it's not in the same building as my living domicile, or we'd surely blow up. I also keep each of my approx 4000 primers, in the Magazine, each wrapped individually in bubble wrap. The magazine is of course constructed of 3/4 inch plywood, with perforations to release pressure in case of explosion, and all the fixtures, fasteners and locks are 100% brass. The brass combination lock, the combination is split, my Pastor knows the first number, the chief of police knows the second number, and my wife knows the third. I can only load if all 3 feels my intentions and requirements for ammunition meet all legal and moral standards.




Anyone who knows me, knows I'm kidding. I'm catholic, I have a priest, not a pastor
