Powder price

It could be worse. Like getting shut down from reloading like Australia.
What ever you do, do it quietly!!

I give it 5 years and all firearms will be banned in this country and we will be under total communist control. At the rate we are going now, its only a matter of time before total societal collapse and war begins. History repeats itself when men get weak. We are at the forefront of this now.

Got more lead than I know what to do with

Lots of ingots, a chunk from a sailboat keel it takes two to move, and bulk lead roofing flashing. Just need a available and cheap way to harden it.

As far as reloading being cheap. Reallllly..... The cheapness is offset by shooting much more. It's still the cheaper option, even at these prices. You make it in bulk, it's available unlike factory ammo, its cheaper, and tailored specifically for your firearm.

I also have a fair amount of lead but most of it is soft lead.
Wish I had more ww lead than soft, but with powder coating you can push the bullets faster than if was only lubed.

I don’t buy powder at $100 + a pound. If we were all refuse to pay those price and powder we're left on the shelves, price will go down. Same with primer.
You have guy asking $200 a pound for Varget…
We are our worse enemy….by paying those crazy nuts price. On the long run, less people will shoot and reload, those price will dip.

That's why i wont be buying another vehicle until prices go back to normal. I see used trucks going for 100k, you have to be silly to pay that.

I disagree on his timeline, but the leftists are gradually chipping away at what is available, and even what we can legally own. They'd quite happily see us all with single shot rifles and break open shotguns.
Powder and reloading supplies is an area they have yet to seriously venture into, but if something stupid happens to bring it to their attention, be sure we will feel the heat.

Chipping away and NONE are two totally different things. There will always be firearms what they are god knows maybe single shots but too much money made in hunting for government to have none
They won't have to even look at reloading the costs in 2022 are taking care of that on us :(
Cheers

That's true unfortunately! I just started reloading this year...boy did I pick the wrong time to start... Not to mention just bought a brand new diesel truck... Since I picked it up on April 1, diesel prices went up by 57 cents... in only 30 days!!!

I would imagine this is going to drive quite a few casual shooters to leave the hobby. They were used to going to the store and picking up a couple of boxes of cheap factory ammo and shooting them off at the range. Didn't get into reloading. Didn't buy by the 500 or 1000 and stock up. Now the price is double or more, and no doubt that has taken the shine off their hobby. It might even affect some ranges, if they lose members.

Less people at the range isn’t a bad thing. Almost every range has a wait list.

Sometimes I think you folks should learn to breath while you're chewing gum.

Do some due diligence, instead of emoting at every opportunity.

I disagree. As someone who works intimately in the industry, do not expect you will ever see prices come down. When is the last time you’ve seen a profitable firm intentionally make less money?

As long is there is competition, prices will drop once demand settles and supply evens out.

It has happened before.

Please, point out the time in Canadian history where everything, funded by your own money no less, was used to subjugate you, including the media.

I really wish people would turn off their tv's and started getting all their information by reading.
It's not a coincidence that the beginning of these trying times coincides with the death of the news paper.
The brain processes information better when it's through a single sense, instead of through the sledge hammer that is the modern high definition television.

as long as the prices keeps going up the cost of used cars will go up as well - I honestly think I could get between $14k - $16k for my 3 cycl Ford Focus certified - even though it has around 140,000 km getting 750km per tank (45.9 liters) is normal

Grabbed another lb of power yesterday.
50$. Wasn’t going to. But the guy at the store said grab it while you can. You don’t want to know the price of the next shipment.
