Gun Powder Price Increase

Please note that due to ongoing conflicts around the world there is an acute shortage of nitrocellulose (a key component in gun powder production). As such powder for reloading will see an increase of anywhere from 12% to 35% depending on the SKU. These price increases will only apply to new shipments.

The more Joe Biden wanted to ban guns the more people went out and bought more and more - this also spilled over to the componets (brass, powder, primers, projectiles) and since our stuff comes from the USA - the US market gobbled it all up - so it cost more to get

Getting crazy everywhere for everything. Another 10 years of this and I'll see y'all in a van down by the river lol

Best gun salesman are U.S. presidents. The more anti gun they are the more guns people buy. Look what happened here with the Turds recent bans. Greatest increase in pistol sales in Canadian history before the ban. Same with AR’s and other black rifles. TELL US we can’t have something and we want it even if we didn’t want it before.

So basically 35 percent increase on powder every year forever. It's annoying how they are taking advantage of the reloaders ever since covid. Like primers have no reason to be up 4x.. and the stores are gouging too some stores 95$ for varget when most 80$.

You obviously don't understand how the cost of supply works.

One main reason why prices will be different at different outlets is because of the "quantities" purchased by the outlet and of course, where they're located.

The Manufactures MAKE it a SUPPLY & DEMAND marketplace ! So depending on their direct competition they adjust the price accordingly ! Hogdon watches over Hornady keeps an eye on Federal and they keep an eye on Winchester who keeps an eye on Barnes etC etc . Just like the OIL & GAS companies do . SOME retailers are Very GUILTY of PROFITEERING too ! Some companies like TELUS pay there CEO $18 Miilion a year too But lay of people because of LACK OF business ??
ALL companies are trying to MAXIMIZE $$ Profits to us shareholders even if it means Phucking :mad::mad:us CONSUMERS ALL over ! JMHO RJ

Hodgdon owns Hodgdon, IMR, Winchester, Ramshot, Accurate, Blackhorn209, Pyrodex and TripleSeven as of oct 2020...they may control more now.

you think they can't manipulate the market?

EXACTLY and they Do ! Funny how Hornady can produce so much 7 MM PRC ammo to sell ! BUT you cannot buy any bare BRASS from them Yet ! WTF Hey but don’t matter there’s much BETTER brass such as ADG and PETERSON. Available. RJ

Just a EXAMPLE !

Been brass shortages for several years now. Even pre-rona, I couldn't find .35 Rem and bought loaded rounds instead.

Later on, the demand really ramped up, and they couldn't even make ammo fast enough to keep up with demand.
So no wonder they couldn't make brass in addition. Why would they?

You are right, at Bass Pro today, I saw Hornady 30-06 dies going fo $89.99, with tax makes this $101.69, unfu#king believable!
