powder prices on the rise??

I have noticed that the Bass Pro shop has the lowest reloading powder prices in my area (Southern Ontario).

Try buying Blackthorn 209 up here at $70.00 for a 10oz jug and it's selling for $35.00 in the US.

What’s even funnier is Blackhorn 209 is made in Canada lol

I picked up a Dillon 650 four years ago just for slaps and giggles and bypassed the break even point last year, but then again I go through 9mm and .223 like popcorn at the movies.

Factor in your labour, factory loads are way cheaper not even in the same ball park.

The ammo I'm loading for less than $1.50/round runs $6/round if I buy it from the factory.

That's where the big savings are. With the odd, unusual, proprietory, large and premium stuff it's quite easy to make your money back for a fairly decent reloading setup the first time you use it.

Just the other day I was at the old Bass Pro and I looked at the new bullet stock that came in ... and then the prices hit me! They all have gone up substantially! Is there a bullet shortage? or a Canadian Tariff on reloading supplies? What is going on? And ammunition prices for Hornady, Federal and Winchester are up too! I guess I should stock up because if this keeps up reloading will be as expensive as golf!

Freight is a huge part of it these days. Bullets are heavy, powder is light for volume and hazardous goods to boot.

Saw some 260 partition. 375 in wholesale 5 yrs ago. $124/25 bullets.

Powders here are north of $50/lb, two small shops, 4 cans between them, dust no extra charge.
