Powder Prices

Maybe getting together with a group will lower the price some what esp at Hummasons

Yes that is what I mean, group buys. The places I mentioned have, for the most part, the best powder prices in Canada. As I stated $54 /lb is outrageous when Higginson, Hummasons, and Lawry's sell this in the mid to low $30. When you sell certain powder for $17 more a pound you can certainly give a cut on shipping, but it never makes up the difference if you need 5 lb or more which is not alot.

Their hazmat fee is like 50-60$. On titegroup they're like 1-2$ less. On rifle powder one can use canam's 4198 and 4064 for less than HHL sells anything. Even if we forget that their website is deficient and looks like a bad dream from the 80s, I'm not gonna save.

Ouch that is outrageous guess buying direct is the only way now for powder

First off I don't care about their website, or what it looks like and compare to some of the places you mentioned it does look like the 80's espically the prices . The powders you mentoined will never replace H-4831, H-1000 Retumbo or other slow burning powder. To bottom line it ,one of the places you mentioned sells H-4831 for $54, Higginson for $36.50 Hummansons for $35 and lawrys for $39.03. This is only one powder, there are more.

Just to be clear, which one of these do you work for?

I literally just got back from Hummason's. $35 for T7 loose. Had return email from Lawry's also. They won't stock Blackhorn due to the size needed for a minimum order. Looks like only a select wealthy few will be able to shoot Blackhorn in Canada. At least until the other powder producers copy the formula, should take about 3-4 years to finally make it accessible up here.

Let me make one thing clear to you, I don't work for any powder seller, espically those that try and rob us. If any one has shares in something it would be you ,trying to convince someone to purchase powder at $54 /lb.

As the US economy picks up we can expect component prices to rise as more people have more discretionary income to spend on hobbies. Some good prices around right now.

These are some of the better prices weve seen in a while. I still find primers, and some rifle bullets a lot higher than most of the other reloading supplies I have had to restock.

I just found a receipt for a pound of IMR4380 I bought a few months ago locally , it was $61.00 I hope I dont do that too often.

That seems to be a fair price from what I have seen

And down the rabbit hole we go....

I like all of them (Hummason is my favourite though). I make a point of knowing my prices and I purchase from the retailer that provides me the product at a price I'm willing to pay. Sometimes that even means Bass Pro, lol.
It is near spring time and the gonads are getting active LOL

I believe it's just the opposite the U.S. is running on all cylinders and the need to hoard is lessened hence the prices may stabilize or even come down
