Powder/primer supplies dwindling, what's your plan?

I can weather a ten-20 year primer shortage. Same goes for powder, cases and bullets. I have enough for another two or three democratic Presidents. Lord forbid!

Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

You don't have enough components unless you need a computer data base to keep track of the numbers!

i was at a place in (southern Ontario) and i was talking to the owner and he said his last shipment was 5% higher than before and he is having problems getting stuff( primers/ powder bullets) still getting stuff but longer time

i asked what the cost was for a brick of 22 was and he did not have any
only single packs did not know when his order was going to come in

cheepest loaded 308 was PMC

That's how the anti's are trying to do it. Just simply breaking us! I've been stocking up for a long long time! My last rifle consideration went directly into powder/primers & brass. No use having a new toy with nothing to shoot out of it!

I just returned from DRG bullets home and he has just gotten in several case of .22. I picked up 16lb of Promo for $248.60 all in. He also has Federal 100s.

...and I'm your only son... :D

Picked up 4 lbs of Varget in Kamloops today, and another box of primers. My "plan" is to buy components whenever possible, and concentrate on .308 for now.

1000 SMK 175gr 308 bullets, 8lb keg of Varget, and 5500 CCI BR2 primers today to be added to the magazine. I was a little uncomfortable there for a moment but now I feel better ;)

And as a bonus I found a forgotten stash of Varget CCI 400 primers and 77gr SMK 223 bullets when I went to store it at home :dancingbanana:

I have only just started of thinking about reloading, and probably will not have my press set up until next winter( which will give me time to buy and read the manuals) , but I do want to start to by components now before the prices go crazy. I will be reloading for hunting deer. What do I need for these calibers??

308

I have read enough here to figure out I need Large rifle primers, and Varget or IMR 4064 for my 308. ( I think lol)

News flash
Prices are already going crazy. FS

I think Higginsons like you to call your order ahead of time before dropping by. It says so on their web site.

I did not know that, but in any case, I did try calling them today, and no one ever answered so I guess they are not open on Sundays.

I don't think I like you very much.

LOL well its not like its around the corner, but I guess one 45 min from work, and its really the only place around that has anything that I know of. Maybe some of the Mtl. area guys can chime in and save me the drive if they know some alternate places to buy components.
