I have an XCR/L. .223 1in 8 twist on order, I use th rifle for target shooting mostly. Be cause I do most of my shooting in the.bush , ineed a hunting rnd. As I'm planning on reloading soon, what would be a suitable .223 projectile for 1i8 twist, that is accurate and affordable ( who sells them) . And what would be a good powder for , said projectile,( who sells that also) . I have some IMR 4064 , it says that it is suitable for 223 but better for higher cal., My next rifle will be a 308, so I can use it for that if I have to.

You'll be limited to mag length of 2.200" OAL so the big greasy heavies are off the table unless you want to load a semi single shot... The 75 gr Hornady HPBT is designed for an AR mag length. I've heard of guys cutting the polymer tip off 75 and 80 gr AMAX to fit Mini 14 mags but that doesn't sound like much fun. Most 68-70 gr match bullets should be workable. Is this a custom barrel or did you mean a 7 or 9 twist RA barrel?

Not sure if custom, but I ordered a1 in 8 and have to wait a while longer , as it's a special order. So assuming it's the same type as the 7 or 9 only in an 8.its the heavy barrel also. I'm looking for as much accuracy as possible with this gun. Most shooting is at 100 yards , but would like good shot placement at 300 if needed.
