I picked up some 100gr Nosler Partition bullets today for my .257 Roberts AI (1-10 twist) and was wondering what would be a good powder to use with this bullet. I was just on the Nosler website and see the Ballistic Tip Hunting bullet has a better BC. Should I go with that bullet or stick with the Partition? Launching them at 3200fps they should still have 1000 foot pounds of energy and 2100fps at 500 yards which I assume is more than adequate for deer in case I have to do a little long range hunting this fall. Thanks in advance.
 
Just pushed some 95 gr BT last night-caliber was .243 however. After much research, I put H4350 against H4831. H4350 with new brass was one ragged hole. I was back and forth on the BT and Partition for deer. Feedback was mixed, but I'm going to stick with the BT this season (pushed a 130 .270 Partition last year) and go for the "bang flop" vs. bang-short run-flop.
 
Either bullet would be fine but I would go with the best of both worlds and go with the 110gr Accubond. I would also give RL15 and IMR4350 a go.
 
I shoot a 250 ackley imp that gets 3200 fps with the nosler partitions and the BT. Initially I shot the ballistic tips but after having a lack of penetration on a few close deer I switched to the partition. Although I haven't shot to 500 yards on deer to say how the partition flys I have shot in excess of 300 and they fly plenty flat for that distance. Hope that helps some
 
I have just tried H4350 rather than IMR that I have been using and results were better.
I would think the AI would also prefer the 4831's and others in that range.

For long range deer I would go with the NBT and 10 twist should stabilize heavier than 100gr. (but there isnt' really a need for it in this case) I know regular 10 twist barrels can shoot 120gr.

I would try RL-22 or H4831
