Powder Recommendations .300RUM

Hi my 700P should show up this week I want to work on some loads 165Gr to 210Gr. Any recommendations for a powder to start with?

I actually had better luck with RL 22 behind a 180 gr Accubond. Shot 3/4" at 100 at 3275 fps.

I just could not get RL25 to shoot for me. Also tried IMR 7828 and it was accurate as well, but not as fast.

Get a few different powders and try. My gun was very accurate with all the loads in RL22 and 7828.

Rl 17 may be a bit on the quick side for that big case. I would be looking at Retumbo, RL 25, Vihtavuori N170, Norma MRP2, AA8700, Ramshot Magnum, Hodgdon H50BMG. The new RL50 may also be worth a look. Eagleye.

I used retumbo and H-1000, lots of it in my 300 rum and 338 edge. seems to work well IMO good luck

My own rifles prefer R-25 behind a 180gr bullet..

I use Retumbo, LOTS of retumbo...77 rounds/pound...95grs behind a 200gr accubond. I used 13 pounds last year...

i also load 91gr of RL-25 behind a 180 accubond. Speed is around 3275. Sub moa and accurate out to 1480 yards(farthest ive shot yet). Im gonna start to work on the 210 bergers and rl25 and see what happens.

with my 300 rum im using 7828 powder .i use about 85 grains in it with the 200 grain bullet. works well.

Well I have some IMR 4350 on hand and I ordered some RL25, H1000 and some IMR 7828 (some of the others were unavailable). I have some 165 & 180 Noslers/Barnes and 210 VLD Bergers & 200Gr Grand slams. Weather is holding at -10/20 So I will get started this week and post some results.
