Was into some major reloading last night down in the gun room when my daughter walked in with a cell phone "hooked" to her ear as per normal. To my surprise the closer she got to my RCBS electronic scale the more the numbers would tumble back and forth. Just for the sake of experimentation I put the phone about two feet from the scale and found the charge weight to move up and down a full two grains! Guess thats why the things are not allowed in hospitals and such.

When I had an FM radio on my loading bench it would drive my PACT scale nuts if it was on. I'm lucky I "tuned in" on the problem before I sent my scale back to the factory for repair.

Ok here's what I found out with my RCBS Chargmaster.
I dispenced 15gr.s of powder and left the scale on, then I had the Mrs. call the house phone with my cell phone from 2 floors away. I had both cordless phones with me, one is an older GE 900MHZ model the other a Motorola 2.8GHZ model, nothing happened while they rang, or while the Mrs. talked to me. Then I swapped my cell phone with the house phones and nothing happened either(cell is digital)....me thinks there is more to this than phones and interference.

Is it a wood floor she was walking on? I use an electronic scale (+/- 0.001 gram) and if anybody walks close to it while I'm weighing charges, it would move. Even if I move around while weighing, like shifting on the chair. So I have to wait until everybody have settled down before I start weighing.

In my lab we have a few 0.001 gram scales, as well as one of 0.0001, 0.00001 and 0.000001 gram scales. Although the last one has a usable range of about one gram and cost something like 20 grand.

I'm curious Johan22, how much did your 0.001 gram scale cost you?
