Powder shortage?

I have been reloading pre-Obama, and if Obama taught me something, you always buy Varget-H4350-CCIBR4-CCIBR2 when you see them, regardless of your bank account, pay VISA if need to.
Unless of course you're at 25+lbs of each powder and 5000+ of each primers...

So if you enjoy that dominion powder a lot, next time around give 'er a good order!

D4895 is excellent and will do most loads the D4064SSC would. Also, it’s in stock! I have lots of both. It has been a while since they got the 4064 in and if they do I’ll be buying it again.

The magic advantage in D4064 SSC is of coarse metering!!

The very best I've ever encountered with 220 swift barrel saving medium hot loads, period. Seems like my first work-ups in 6.5 CR will be a success as well.

Who's got Dominion 4064 SSC? That will ship?

Powder lot come and go, been reloading for 50 years and it ALWAYS being like that.
So stop that BS of powder shortage.

Dealer order as they see fit and when it is sold - depending how long it took and whats left of the shelf - they decide when to do their order.
For Dominion - a large batch was received by dealers advertising here on CGN and they went out in about a month time.

IMR 4064 is avail at Higginson - canister grade - 8 pds keg. Better than bulk Dominion..(made at the same Valleyfield QC plant )

Varget and powder manufactured in the Hogdon Florida plant are difficult to find cause of a fire at that plant. May take a couple years before they come back in full production.

When powder are offered or on the dealer shelf - it’s time to move and buy. It is like the Covid shxit paper shortage...

What thrower are you using? I am pretty unimpressed with it though an RCBS unit. I am hoping my Dillon will be accurate enough. It would be nice to find a useable and somewhat consistently available stick powder for my bulk loading.

Only 50? It's my first powder shortage, ever.

95 is a similar powder composition to 4064, except the kernels are smaller. meters much better.

4064 is good when you need to fill a big case, like a 30-6. For 308, I prefer 4895.Unless you are making match ammo, a ball powder solves the metering problem. It throws dead nuts. H335, BLC2, 748, H380
