I own a sako 85 Finnlight, 30-06 and I am starting to reload. I want to use Barnes TTSX, 168 gr. The loads will be used for range work and hunting at distances of 100 to 300 yd. I'm looking for suggestions for powders that will perform in a wide range of temperatures (ie. hunting below freezing)? Any input would be greatly appreciated as I'm just getting into reloading. Thanks

powder for 30-06

i have a custom barreled mauser in 30-06, i like using H414 with 180 gr lapua psp, if im using a lighter slug like a 150-165, ill use either IMR4064 OR IMR4350

im now experimenting with 125gr loads for it as we speak, so far 4064, and IMR3031 seem to be the ticket with lighter rounds

IMR 4350 has always been one of my favorites in a number of calibres, one of which is the '06. I agree with the the suggestions of a few others in naming IMR 4350 and IMR 4064. I have a Husqvarna Lightweight in '06 with a 1-12" twist so in going to Barnes I was planning on going with the 150gr TTSX. I thought first I'd try some 130gr TTSX, just for the hell of it, and the results, using IMR 4064 were suprisingly good so far.

The target also has some results of another calibre I'm trying Barnes in. The 7x61 S&H and it also seems to have a preference for IMR 4064.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'm going to try 4350 and 4064 and see how they stack up in my rifle. I appreciate all the feedback.
