Looking for some insight here. What's going on with the stock of powder here in Canada? Is this drought going to end? What's causing this? Are there business insiders that know why the shelves are empty?

I'm mostly just curious but I'm also about to run out of my precious Varget and I'm hoping to hear this situation is just temporary!

Massive US demand in 2020 overwhelmed supply. Supply chains in the USA are recovering now, but it will be more months before things return to normal. It will take longer up here.

If you think powder is in short supply, go primer shopping.

There are small butches of powder appear here and there. Recently I was able to score primers too. What's more concerning is the new inflated price of components. That might make reloading some calibers not worth it. Especially now, when there is no any much shortage of factory ammo of popular calibers.

I still see the odds and ends of a few different powders. It is getting harder, as more retailers stopped shipping on it. This baffles me some, as I have another order coming out of Ontario, with no problems of shipping out to BC.

Varget is a tad harder as it is popular, but do still see some pop up here and there. I have heard that Vithavouri was stuck in a container for a bit, so hopefully start seeing some of it hit the shelves soon. H4350 is another popular one I still see. H1000 is in waves. RL26, forget about it for a bit and have not seen any on the retail scene for a while. Almost as bad as brass for some of the popular like 6.5 PRC is right now.

Primers are I'm afraid going to be the bigger crunch for a bit longer. On top of all that, the prices keep stepping up, and not just creeping up anymore.

Those reloaders who are fixated on certain powders will be frustrated. Expand your horizons and get off your wallet and you will find powder that goes bang. That being said, if you haven’t stocked up already you are a year too late. You snooze, you pay.
