It has been a long time since I reloaded. I would like some idea as to what powder would be good for 9 mil. I am shooting a Browning Hi-power.
I just bought 500 factory rounds and will buy another 500 soon so I will have some brass to work with.
I do not have any reloading equipment yet but I figure that I should buy the components for when I want to start again.
 
Using Power Pistol will require 25% more powder per charge, AA#7 - 80% more and BlueDot - 50% more --- so you won't be saving as much or making as many rounds per pound of powder...

But you can use any of those and N340, 3N37 and so on, just won't be as economical.

This may come as a complete surprise to you but did you know there are a few whackos out there that actually prefer performance and availability among other things, over wringing every last dime out of the reloading process? It's true!

Can you believe it? I can't.....:rolleyes:

Quit spreading lies, saving half a cent for a sub-par product is the new cool.

I take it you are being sarcastic.

Anyhoo, he's just about to start reloading after not doing it for a long while and I may be wrong but he may not be looking for the 'best performing' ammo but getting things in order and re-learning the process... Why extra expense at this point? Buying best press you can afford and good LONG-lasting tools IS worth it. But the powder will be out and gone with a trigger pull. THEN, after a little practice - he'll figure it out what and how to do that works best for him...

Yes, I know people who can afford and do have tens of thousands spent on one or two competition guns and use any and every possible way to be above the rest, and don't care as much as average folks as of how much it costs.

There is nothing wrong with W231, Tightgroup or Universal, and as a matter of fact, I know Masters who use the mentioned above powder; though not at major matches but at least it makes bulk practice cheaper...

Oh well, may come as a surprise to you but I didn't get surprised.
