I would like to ask for some experienced M1A re-loaders for the following questions, can I use IMR-4064 and Hodgdon H335 for reloading. I am aware than I can use it for 308 Winchester but I was informed that I should consult experienced M1A re-loaders to make sure the burn rates are acceptable and that it will work without creating a potential for a bad day. I like to use 145 to 150 grn bullet.

Thanks for any help

I use H-335. There's been talk about how it fouls the gas system, but I haven't had any problems with hundreds of rounds.

Unless it's just the Garand, I believe Varget is considered too hot (pressure-wise) for the M-305.

I've always used 4064 in my Norinco M14 and Garand. 150's in the 14 and 165's in the Garand. I tried most of the medium burners and always came back to 4064 because of accuracy. Downside is you may have metering problems. Almost 40 lbs of 4064 downrange for me over the years.
