I don't have a chrony and I need to know the power factor using 124 gr Aims bullets and either Titegroup,Win 231 or HS6. Can anyone help? I'm planning on using the reloads for IPSC so its has to be 125 or higher.

Might help to know what caliber you're shooting. Is it 9x19, 9x21, 9x25, 357 Sig, 9mm bullets in a 38 SPL case????

Lets just assume 9x19 for a moment. Any of those three powders (according to just the one book I looked at) have never-exceed limits that list velocities of 1169fps to 1060fps. Like the man says," You're gonna need a chrony". All three powders can deliver your power factor but you'll never be able to work up to a proper load without guessing; and guessing ain't good when you're reloading.

I am thinking he is wondering if anyone has come up with a load that has been tested on a chrony.

I have a note in my files that puts a 9mm Luger 124gr lead RN with 4.3grs unique at 1110fps out of a Sig 226.

best you can do is pick a load, that will by the book put you in the 135 to 145 PF factor. after that without a chrony it is a crap shoot. with the AIM bullets load them the same as lead. there is absolutely no guarantee that using some one else's loads will give you the same out of your gun. in fact i have seen two guns the same vary by as much as 100 FPS over a chrono.

Here's what I use. The power factor is a bit high but if I go too much lower I find it's difficult to keep the amount of powder accurate. Walter's right though, you really should get a chrony or ask someone if you can use one. Every gun is different.

I use 124gr Frontier plated, which are similar to your AIM bullets.
4.1 - 4.2 grs of Titegroup gives me 130PF. I was at 4.0gr but the bullets were sometimes only 122gr resulting in a PF of about 127.

Let's see.

Crony $110

Match fee, travel expenses, component costs, your time for a 124.8pf PRICELESS

Maybe add the price of a gun and some new fingers should you really pick the wrong advice.......
