Hey everyone. Just wondering if anyone has had expeirence with the powerbelt series of bullets. I switched over to the 245gr areolite and are patterning very well out of my smoke pole. If any has some eperience in field and on game can you please let me know. Pictures are a plus

In both my TC and Tradtions they shot very poorly. I never killed anything with one because I never felt confident using them. A good friend of mine has shot several deer with PowerBelts and although deer died, they were not to his liking and eventually he switched to Barnes. He felt they were not consistent opening up.

They work for me every year in my cva wolf .50 Pic is .22 airgun pellet, 9mm airgun pellet, .50 power belt and the recovered .50 powerbelt. All my kills so far have been under 50 yards with 100 grains powder (don't need 150 where I hunt). Bang flopped one and other made it 10 yards.

Too expensive for me and not very accurate in my TC prohunter. My Hornady 44cal 240 gr XTPs work great with 3 holes touching at 100 yards. Put down a nice 6 point last week with this combo. Shoulder shot it just like Shelbys above at 35 yards, nice 1/2 inch hole on the close side, destroyed the far side shoulder blade and kept going, he dropped right there..

One of the guys in our group lung shot a nice buck last year with a powerbelt at 50 yards, complete pass thru, deer went 30 yards and died.

Only bullet not very accurate in my Omega, tried different powders/weights but to no avail. Then it finally dawned on me why every one was giving me their "left" over powerbelts to try, I will get them back!

Shot a big 8 pt last year ...not impressed with performance as deer went quite a ways and a complete blow through....decent enough blood trail but I'm goin back to shock waves...also accuracy was average at best. tC Bonecollecter

I couldn't get them to group for me either. With 777 they were horrible, at every corner of the paper. With BH209 the best I could manage was 8" @ 100 yards. Barnes 245gr Sptifires and 100gr of BH209 is grouping very well for me (2.25") at almost 2000fps.

...glad that you are satisfied with the powerbelts ..i have used powerbelts but i have stopped using lead bullets.i posted pics of the barnes that i recovered 250 gr before and after still weigh 250gr..

I have shot 3 deer with them under 50 yards and have not had a pass thru on any of them. They are very accurate in my Thompson but seem to come apart when they enter a deer.Very hard to track a deer in the early season with no blood trail.

The green base hollow points suck. I use the platinum series with the black gas seal. Very accurate out of all my front stuffers with the exception of my traditions buck stalker. It's just not an accurate gun. 2.5" 5 shot group at 100 yards. On game performance is great with the platinum series. I've taken a doe at 260 yards and many deer under 80 yards. Several at less then 10 yards and 1 point blank. All great results. The green base ones don't seal in modern muzzle loaders and begin to tumble after 60 yards. I haven't tried the new aeroflites yet. I've tried Hornady sst and all the like and never found any better then the power belts platinum

Tried them in my ProHunter, and patterned like a shotgun. I now use Barnes, either 250 TEZ or 300 MZE's. My groups yesterday with the 300's were clover-leafed. Big fan of Blackhorn 209 which seems to have tightened my groups over Triple 7.
