Powerful air rifle advice

I'd at least use a CB cap . sorry to say but I have been shooting pellet guns for years but not any of the new stuff . I still would put my my money on a CB at a very close distance. I hate wounding anything and having to chase it down in an almost panic trying to snuff the life out of it . it doesnt make me feel very good . as others have said use enough gun.
