I am attending a PPC carbine event and the starting position is specified with the finger at 45 degree to the barrel. Is that normal? Couldn't find any rule books specifying that and afaik in IPSC rifle, it just has to be outside the trigger guard. Anybody ever run such an event? This will be a weird one to get used to on short notice lol

Hi there! The rules says ''finger on the frame, barrel at 45 degree (ie: low ready)'', not the finger at 45. Have a good practice, see you there!

Thanks.. That's what I get for trusting Google translate lol The only fluently bilingual person in the house knows nothing about guns. Do you know whether I have to flip the safety for each 2 shot exposure or just between the strings of 10 shots?

I don't think so, the rules don't specify ,but since the long waiting time (5 sec etc.) I would advice to put it back, just for consistency, but that's just me. I'll be running my 10.5'' SBR, but i'm eager to see your new toy and how it perform. I've got a friend who's thinking about it a lot.

If we get the chance, I'd be happy to let him fire off a few. It's a great handling gun. I hope I'll get my optics mount (another el-cheapo China special but moves the scope 2" forward and is a little higher than the low rings I'm using now) before I head out as the scope is a bit too far back so I have to hunt for sight picture, but that's not the gun's fault. Before I had one in my hands, I couldn't predict the correct way to mount optics on it. The only downer is that my LAR mags aren't dropping free and I have to manually remove them. Not an issue when shooting coupled, but it is an issue when shooting single LAR mags. Other people have been saying that LAR mags drop free for them no problem, so I guess my magwell is a bit tighter than theirs. The accuracy I got at 50 with norc ammo, off a single sandbag, cqb-oriented scope but at 5x magnification was 25-30mm translating into about 2MOA. Trigger a bit long and mushy but light at 4lbs. Mag release isn't an issue with a bit of practice if they drop free. I was even able to maintain a sight picture but had to change right-handed. No chance in hell I'll be putting the safety on between exposures.. Now THAT is in a bit of an awkward spot.
