Just getting back into PPC, got the holster, the speed loaders, brass and bullets (WSS actually had 148gr HBWC's !!!) and am now deciding on which powder to use for 800fps ish.

I have a bunch of Lilgun but don't see any data. W231 is listed, anyone using it? Any input appreciated.

148 grain HBWC, I load 2.7 grains of bullseye and find it very accurate at 7 through 50 yards, been using this load for 40 years and am still loading it. Most of the shooters I compete with use this same load, try it I`m sure you`ll like it. If you shoot distinguished as well try 2.9 of bullseye for the 158 grain semi-wadcutters, also very accurate.

3.2 gr. 231,148 gr. HBWC, have used this for years with my custom PPC gun. I prefer 3.7 gr. 231, 158 gr. SWC for Dist. Rev. using my S&W 686. 231 is also cheap, last time we (Nov. 2008) bought, it was about 21.00/# from Higginsons. If you are in Lethbridge, check with some of the PPC shooters with the Chinook Country Shooters. There are a couple guys in Leth. who could tell you just about everything you need to know about PPC. One of them can also help you with components and gear.

You got s problem with 2.8...?

3.1 of 231 for a 148 HBWC is good, I think everyone in the club is using that load. Maybe a couple at 3.0. We shoot Wednesday night at 6:00 at the Fish & Game range here in Lethbridge. Drop down some night if you haven't already.
