PPC matches in Ontario and Quebec

'Shot PPC for many years... Had a great time.
I never got very good at it, but... it was fun.
2002 international Law Enforcement Games in Ottawa I finished dead last but.... I finished !

Unfortunately most of the guys I shot with have aged out of the game...

The reason that I sold my ppc gun to you was I was done with the dishonesty of the game. When you have a sandbagger come in and clean up by shooting at an "expert" level after qualifying as a "marksman" and the officials did nothing. That was enough for me.
Luckily the in-house group I shoot with is more concerned about having fun & swapping stories than trying to sandbag each other. BTW the gun has been great. Very light action, accurate, just exactly what I was looking for. At my age I'll never be great at it but I've managed to get my average up to 570/600 so I'm pretty happy.

Can't remember if you or someone else tuned the action but whoever did it knew what they were doing.:d

I really enjoyed PPC back in the day. There was a time in the 80s that it was the coolest discipline around that allowed us to wear a holster.... lol. Started shooting in a fun league at Pro Shooters of Canada in Pickering/Ajax area (long gone now). Then tried it again in the mid 90s at the Barrie Gun club league but it wasnt as much fun. Then PPC just kind of faded away . I still have all my gear and revolver. It would be great to see it come back to life.

Beginning of the 80's, the golden age of PPC, I was president of the Montreal PD club.
At the Provincial competition, an unknown shooter was awarded the first Master class prize, a beautiful Heckler and Koch P-7.
A bit of astonishment in the banquet room.
The next saturday, back at the monthly meeting of the Federation, I had the following rule accepted :
"Any shooter "unclassified" will be included in the class of the score he shooted".

And with insulting comments like this from a shooter to other shooters you wonder why the government has no problem screwing over gun owners. I can't believe all the clowns who bad mouth other shooting disciplines just because they don't like/participate in them.

And by the way it's "...shot in a heavy PPC gun..." not "shoot". See how easy it is to be a ####? Don't like it, keep your opinion to yourself.

I am sorry mister..I am entitle to my opinion as much as you are. You don’t like it ? So what ?
Nothing about being a ######.if you thing hiding behind a 2x4 is cover..you have a problem…none of the games we shoot are realistic..if you want realistic..get into the Armed Forces..anything short..it’s a game. It’s realistic when somebody shoot back at you..and believe me..nobody in is right mind will hide behind a 2x4 then.

The post would be practice for shooting around the corner of a building or such, for those using PPC to train for the real world, and the post being narrow lets you conveniently use it as a left corner or a right corner.

Don't confuse him with the facts. Some people are just too dumb to know when they're wrong.

Greetings fellow PPC enthusiasts. Interesting evolution of classification rules. The current rule for CPCA sanctioned matches makes a new competitor compete as a Grand Master for their first match. Their score from that match is used to calculate a temporary classification for their second match. After they have fired 2 complete matches they receive their new classification based on an average of the 2 match scores. This system works well.

As I’m writing this I’m preparing my gear to head to Winnipeg this weekend to compete in the Manitoba PPC champs this weekend. To anyone who is interested in the sport or competing I encourage you to check out the match schedules for upcoming events at
www.cpca-ppc.org you can also view international competition and rankings at www.wa1500.org

See you on the range,

Roly
