Hey Guys,

I am looking to get started shooting some PPC for fun. I have a 6" 686 that I will be using. What else do I need in terms of gear? I presume that I need a belt and some speed loaders, holster, etc, but would appreciate it if someone could spell it out for me. Also, where is a good place to buy the stuff? Thanks!!

Check out www. sportsmansguide.ca

I recently bought a couple things from there with the same idea. Some pretty decent quality stuff at a relatively low price. I have a k-38 Masterpiece 6" and bought these:

Also bought a black dog ruger 22/45 holster. Shipped price was just over $100 for the 3 items, and i had it in less than a week.

Safariland comp-3 loaders. Nice big handle, and you just push them in the cylinder to eject them (as opposed to twisting a little knob) I would say 4 at a minimum, but it's always handy to have another in your pocket incase you fumble one, or have a premature ejection ;)

Comp-lll are best, but require a special pouch. Don't trust shop staff(check to make sure speedloaders are proper for your gun). Should be marked 586 or L-frame. Safariland makes a speedloading tray with box(tray is marked specific for your pistol). Four speedloaders and two double pouches will do. HKS also makes speedloaders(aluminum knob to turn), but full wadcutters are a challenge to align with cylinder, especially if chambers aren't chamfered. Get some coaching and practice speedloading with dummy ctg.

I am good to go as far as reloading goes. Have a press and I am setup for 38 special. Already set up to reload 38 for the wife and doing it. :)
