The last match of the year is coming up fast, on Aug 30-31, the PPRA match will be hosted by the SPRA at the North Star range.

Based on prior PPRA AGM minutes, competitors were to pre-register by July 1st of this year. Since we have not had many of you pre-register, we will, once again, except entries at the door Saturday morning, up to 42 competitors (7 targets * 2 shooters to a target * 3 relays)

I was looking thru old AGM minutes and found these, added here to just to refresh your memories, if you were present that these meetings.

2012 AGM

- Safety before each meet

- Seeding shooters on day 2

- Minutes to APRA and MPRA as well

- Safety checks to come off line at PPRA

- No lunch, shoot thru

- Pre-reg for all matches

2006

- PPRA TO BE 4 RANGES / DAY AND 1 TEAM MATCH AND ONLY 2 DAYS LONG, NOT 3 DAYS

At the SPRA budget meeting, we wrongfully changed the PPRA schedule, making it a two day match with no team shooting. As you can see by a motion in 2006, we are to have four yardages per day and a team event, each day. Since it has been advertised without any team events, any shooters wishing to form teams made do so and we will hold any extra team event each day for those interested at the end of the day, 2+10 900 yds. Sat and 2+10 1000 yds. Sunday. Bring a lunch and water, we shoot right through, no breaks!

Well, the match was, as usual, a great time. We had 34 shooters over the two days, again slightly up from last years 32 competitors. We had to postpone the start of the match on Saturday due to a thunderstorm, so we had our PPRA AGM instead from 9 to 11 AM, then the rain stopped and we went out and shoot. The wind on Saturday was from the south or south east and not all that hard, around 12 mph. Sunday the wind was from the west but at the 900 and 1000 yd lines, it was switching, coming from the east, them west, then east, etc.

The team shoot was on Saturday at 900 yds and the Manitoba crew LOST, giving the win to "those banjo pickers" from Saskatchewan, by 4 points.

Two day results follow

AS YOU CAN SEE, IT WAS A VERY CLOSE CONTESTED MATCH, BOTH DAYS, IN ALL CLASSES!

We also awarded the Shooter of the Year awards.
TR - Neil Suttill
FTR - Chuck Lochel
FO - Cal Waldner
New Shooter of the Year - Charles Ries

Congrats to all the winners. I lucked out and slipped to the top in the Grand Agg, beating Cal by 2 Vs, my 50-10V at 500 yds helped LOL. I was shooting with Cal and he asked if I want to try a long V run (were you keep shooting until you miss a V bull) but I said no, I didn't have enough ammo to try that and conditions were good enough, it may have been 20 shoots before I dropped a V conditions were so readable, 8 out of 32 guys shoot cleans at 500 yds Sunday morning).

One tough young new shooter. That thing KICKED!!

The undisputed winner of the nicest looking stock, he made it himself.

This showed up at the match. A new FTR stock being produced by Xtreme Gun Shooting Center in Winnipeg. My Dolphin is pictured at the bottom for reference.
