PPRA Program Details
Sept 15 - 16, 2007
PPRA Sat. Sept 15 Registration 8:30 Matches Start at 9:00
Alberta Agg. 300-500-600-900 2+10
Team Match 600-- 2+10
Sunday Sept 16 9:00
Manitoba Agg. 500-600-900-1000 2+10
Team Match 900--2+10
For those that do not know, the Prairie Provincial Rifle Association is made up of the 3 Western provinces Rifle Associations (Mb, Sk and Ab) and this match is usually very well attended. My first time out shooting LR was at the PPRA in 2004 and this hooked me on LR, there were around 25 to 30 guys out on the berms for it. I used a 308 with a T6 scope that day and I considered myself winning just to hit the target once at all ranges, since I had no idea of the come ups needed back then. I was very impressed with LR and the PPRA match since in Canada, we were very lucky to get a dozen guys out to a match in benchrest (That is were my roots were back then, now I'm a LR prone guy)
The classes shot at this match are:
T/R - sling, iron sights, prone
Open F Class - any caliber, scoped, supported, prone
F Fclass - 308 with 156g or less or .223 with 81g or less, scoped, supported, prone
The SPRA, were the PPRA is shot, allows any caliber under a 50 cal to be shot and the SPRA range does go out with berms to 1200 yds. We usually have 2 or 3 guys using 338's out for matches at the SPRA. Basically, if you have a hunting rifle with a scope on it, you can shot this match. Others will help you get on the target elevation wise.
Hope to see everyone from the 3 provs out for this match and also a few new shooters. See ya' there!
