Say does anyone know who's got the best deal on this rifle right now? As far as I can see it's Frontier Firearms $399 In wood with a 30rd mag. I see others at $379 but that's with a 10rd mag. Any comments on experience with the rifle?

I had one of these with the 50rnd steel drum & plastic stock version when they first showed up a few years ago (made by Pietta)
The drum had a cheesy "loading tool" that made loading 50rnds a slow process. The "tool" was nothing more than a bent coat hanger that could get lost very easily. However, once loaded my son had fun dumping the drum and it ran ok on bulk Blazer. The sights were nothing special but worked for a plinker.
The plastic stock was thin and hollow sounding. The texture made it feel like a water gun...... definitely get the wood stock version(if you want one)

I bought one recently, so for it's running like a top. A few FTF, but I was blaming that on the cheap junk I was feeding it.

I bought the wood clad one, it weights more than any other .22 I've ever had, it also feels very solid.

I wouldn't be trying for amazing groups, but as a "play" rifle, it's a good time.

I bought mine from SFRC.
