Today, I just picked up a lightly used PPS 50 and I have to say first impressions are very positive. While I did not put a ton of rounds through, the function was 100%, and accuracy was suprisingly good even though I was just fooling around.
The beech (?) stock is nicely finished, and inletting and fit seems suprisingly good. The wrist is a little thick but not unmanageable. The metal finish is just OK, but not horrible. The steel butplate is reminescent of a Mosin.
The mags fit well and lock in and out well. Im not crazy about the rear site, as it cutout is pretty small, and its not super quick to use. A highlighted bar under the cutout will help that. The receiver is not grooved for a rail but that is not an issue for me. Standing at 40 ish yards all on target despite the sights and short barrel.
Zero function issues, with CCI mini max hp.
The short length and light weight make it easy to carry. It can be carried barrel down without dragging thru the dirt, which is also a plus. It comes with sling swivel studs, although it may not be entirely a joy to sling due to the protruding magazine.
Overall a nice little plinker, i was impressed.
