I read on this forum that the Russian ppsh might be available to canadians. I was going to order a Suomi m-31 but I think I will hold out for the ppsh if the rumor is true or F it and get both.

PPSH fires 7.62x25 tokarev, the Suomi fires 9mm. I would get the one that fires 9mm, because that old surplus 7.62x25 is gonna dry up and then its gonna be pricey.

Oh, and dont forget Vladamir Putin is a crazy bastard - we might not be seeing much of anything coming out of Russia for a while pretty soon here...

to get to a broader market , it would be better if they made non-res barrel in 9mm. I too prefer 9mil but im not holding my breath but I got a suomi to tie me over , lol .

No worries about 7.62 TT ammo drying up for these guns. A simple barrel swap and mag housing and you are firing 9mm par. The bolt face is very close to the same dimesions as 9mm para. The bolt weight is also compatible. There is a conversion kit from WW2 that uses MP-40 magazines but unfortunately Im sure these are very rare.

Germans did a 9 mm conversion. Prices people would be willing to pay would make it worthwhile. ;)

What kind of PPSh are you talking guys? Some kind of new SA build like so called Suomies?

PS Reenactors in Ukraine use PPShes and PPSes with 9MM Luger blank rounds. Fitting is minimal. A little bit expensive to fire in full auto though.

From an old thread

I imagine these will be around $1000 given that the US price is about $800.

I could go for a PPSh to add to the collection, if only to complete the Soviet reunion going on in my safe downstairs. And preferably in 7.62x25, if only to round out the 7.62x39 and 7.62x54r rifles I have, and to complement the TT-33 I hope one day to have.
