Anyone have any experience/knowledge they would care to share in regards to barrel profile choices?

I am going to order a custom barrel and am struggling a bit with deciding between these two barrel profiles. The barrel will be a 250 Savage used for casual hunting and target shooting. I hope to give or inherit the rifle to family members in the future. I recently installed a fluted barrel that had a slightly heavier than sporter profile that sort of impressed me. Not so much for the fluting as for the slightly heavier build.

Any input anyone?

Different barrel makers have different specifications. You can usually see a chart of those specifications on their website. One makers #4 may differ from another makers #4.

Both 4 and 5 are on the heavy side for a 250 hunting rifle.

measure the barrel you own and like the profile of and then give the dimensions to your dealer or compare at the builders website and pick the closest profile.
