Practical handgun Course

The Practical Handgun (Basic) training course will be conducted over 2.5 training days.

The first 3.5 hours will be spent covering all the technical information required to perform the tasks required of a Practical Handgun Operator- Basic (THO-B). Candidates will then commence the Range portion of the course scheduled for the remaining 15 hours of the course. Following successful completion of the open range practices the course will be completed and certificates awarded.

The aim of this training is to qualify selected candidate to perform the duties of a PHO-B. At the end of the training, all candidates will be employable as PHO-B within their organization.

The students will receive training in the following areas:

* Safety rules for firearms
* The Fundamentals of Practical Shooting
* Close Quarter shooting techniques
* Stance, Ready Positions, and Grip
* Alert Positions
* Load and Unload
* Stoppages and Immediate Action Drills
* Barricade Drills
* Engaging targets (Single & Multiple)
* Shooting on the move
* Stress and Performance
