the Corse of fire will be indicated with several stages
scoring is usually done themed wound and kill targets may be themed as hunting, military or police style targets.
for a police or military target the head would be considered a Kill where the chest a wound
a dear or other animal it would be vital area as one would take as if hunting
the course of fire would very some matches may be set out to long distances such as 1000 others as close as 50 yards so as to allow shooters who may not have access to military or similar ranges with long distance

4 stages of targets
Stage (1) indentify target
a page 1 shoot and 2 no shoot targets realistic images could be a deer with a unique rack shape fictional officer or less obvious as identifying an individual out of a group. that and only that target is to be taken out you have 1 cold bore shot and
stage course of fire
thirty seconds identify the shot target
in this time you must make any adjustments for range/wind weather
if shot is not taken by the 30 second mark it is a fail
Hit on the shoot target 10 points wound hit on vital +5
hit onto shot -5
Stage (2) rapid fire course
has say 5 targets you have 5 shots one for each target this is timed similar to an IPSC event.
course may be set up with targets on a single page or spread out over the range
scoring is 2 points for each target
stage (3) pop up
has 10 targets at varying distances that pop up the shooter must engage as they pop up with in a set time limit targets come up at random
scored wound1 kill 1.5
stage (4) egg shoot
shooters place they're rifle on the line takes a shot to confirm zero then and a judge (any friend will do if they are competing with you even better for this) adjusts the sights randomly off zero the shooter takes one-shot at a sighting board and the egg with out re adjusting for the shot holding off at an egg resting on a beer bottle
