practical use for SKS bayonet ?

used one for cooking sausage on the fire

or when shooting and there is no bench or rifle rack just stick the spike into the ground

I guess it would make a good mine prod, but not a lot of minefields around here to test it out. :D

Why, bayonet charges, of course.

Had a bunch of friends out shooting at zombie targets from zombietargets.net, and when one ran my SKS dry, I told her "OK, now fix bayonet and charge the zombie".

She did a great job, bloodcurdling scream and all. Never laughed so hard on the range in my life :).

Ha - wasnt with my SKS - my first milsurp was a Lee Enfield with one of those 16 inch or so blade bayonets. when I got back to Thunder Bay, i showed it to a buddy of mine who I went to school with. He was sitting on the couch and jumped up with the rifle and bayo attached - and promptly drove the bayo through the gyprock ceiling of my apartment....

Land lord never saw that one when I left!

I like the look of it just because that was the way it came from the factory. The SKS was a millitary rifle so I think it looks odd without the bayonet personally.

A few years back there were a bunch of yahoos on the other side of the river from our cabin whooping it up pretty good. Son & I headed across the river on our ATV's to go back woods shooting and passed right through Camp Yahoo. Son in camo with a rifle slung on his back and me with my SKS with bayonet out on my back.
Camp Yahoo became very, very quiet as we smiled at them and motored on thru.
They were real quiet that night. :D
I happened upon a hunter while I was horseback last fall. I had my folding SKS with me as cougars are about now and then.
You do get a funny look and they kinda stutter a bit as they explain that the deer ran through the fence after it was shot. It was cool the whole time, just wanted to help out.
I'd like to get an cz-58 and see the looks then...:)

Haha, I charged the target with my bayonet a few times too. Out of principle, you know...
