So I picked up a stunning pre 64 M70 in 375 H&H that I’m excited to shoot but the trigger weight at some point was adjusted to around 2.5 pounds and to be honest in that thumper I would like it heavier. In my new toys I’d mess with it myself but since it’s a virtually pristine unit I’d like a professional in Alberta ideally to adjust it and or swap in an original spring if it was changed. So if there’s any recommendations that would be awesome. IMG_2823.jpeg

All you need is two 1/4" wrenches. A quick interweb check will tell you how to use them. It is VERY simple.

Yeah, this.

IIRC, there are only two adjustments in the old Win 70 triggers. One for weight, the other does the trigger travel, IIRC. Verify thoroughly, though!

Bets are off, if someone previous has had a go at the trigger sear geometry, at any point in the past!

I would test fire the rifle before passing judgement on the trigger weight.

Should you still want a heavier pull weight the adjustment is not complicated .
If you are not comfortable making the adjustment, take it to a gunsmith in your area.

not sure what cold weather has to do with it 2.5 lbs is 2,5 lbs at any temp
i have hunted in -26 makes know difference
Cold weather can result in numb fingers. Numbness in the fingers results in reduced tactile sensation. The lighter your trigger pull is, the less margin for error you have when you put your frozen finger onto the trigger. I've done a lot of competitive target shooting in weather below -40 and up to the minus-teens. When you're trying to run a rail of targets in two and a half minutes and you're shooting an extremely lightweight trigger, it makes it quite difficult, especially as you near the end of the string. I've also hunted in the same kinds of weather. You may not notice a difference, but I certainly have.
