pre 64 M70's - "The Rifleman's Rifle" - FYI

The hole spacing will be standard so any combination will work the only ones that had different spacing are the magnum models typically your No.46 front and 47 rear weaver style are used. The actions are long so sometimes extension style rings are needed depending on tube length of the scope. The 2.5x8x36 Leupold would be a good choice

Bittermansbro:

Good for you on a good looking Model 70. There's beauty in simplicity and it's nice to see an original pre 64 Model 70 like yours. Very nice stock, the fiddleback looks great. 1950 was a good year. . :)

Thanks Rod, you nailed it. Its beautiful and simple and it shot very good groups with minimal adjustment. The grain in the wood is simply awesome and I have a hard time not looking at it over and over again.

The wife has already made some impertinent comments about my apparent....'affair' with the thing. :p
