pre 64 model 70 30-06

Hi, just had a friend drop off a winchester model 70 in 30-06. He said its a pre 64, serial number starts with #1136***, anyone know what approximate date this would be? Couple very minor rubs an nudges and looks to be virtually unfired, came from a friend of ours that has passed and took real good care of his guns. He wants $600 including scope, but I do not want to take advantage of him on price, I think it is worth more.
Any advise on this is welcome.

That makes it a push feed and less valuable than a pre64. Depending on the scope, the price seems fair I'd say.

By '78, the problems with the first post -'64s were long gone. Nothing wrong with the mature push feeds. Unless it is a quality scope, a used scope doesn't do much for the value.
