Just curious if a comparrison can be made between the two rifles. I understand there is not alot of difference between the two considering quality, weight(I think the BSA is slightly lighter) action smoothness ect.Would like to hear from someone who has handled both.I am buying a Majestic fwt 30-06 from someone on this board and am like a kid waiting for xmas awaiting its arrival:dancingbanana:

I have seen them the BSA Majestic in several calibers from 222 to 458 Win and it is a much better built rifle.

I have to agree. The quality of the BSA rifles was as good as any - and better than most - commercial maker in the world during the 50's and 60's.

the BSA's are nice rifles, but if you break a critical part it becomes a 7 lb paperweight, unlike a M70 or M98 of any vintage.

for those that remember, what was the pricing on a Majestic compared to a M70, an HVA, or similar rifles at the time ?

RGV, good point and one to remember with a few different rifles from that period.(husqvarna actions being another one, unfortunately!) It's the reason I've moved towards "mainstream" actions for my hunting rifles, that and replacement (read synthetic) stock availability.
