you're telling me it makes sense to buy 308 when they can simply tell IVI to make cans of it loose?

You can safely shoot 7.62x51 in a rifle chambered for 308 Winchester. This allows them to use current military stock and gives the Rangers access to a common hunting round if they purchase their own ammunition.

Rumor (from a good, albeit single, source): CF are looking at piggy backing onto the Ranger rifle order to replace other sniper rifle(s). So this rifle might end up being the C3/C14 replacement. They would be built by Colt Canada.

I have wanted this like crazy since I first seen them announced. Too bad the Rangers weren't more like the swiss model where every citizen was a member or at least had the option, not just for the North. Definitely about $1200 more than I could afford, hopefully we can get the sights separately as I don't need the orange stock or the expensive bottom metal, the standard mag and stock would work for me or maybe a different colour wood stock.

Omg your one of those ktm (orange popsicle) fanatics. I get enough of them on ADVRIDER. I think the orange is some sort of artic, northern lights camouflage.
