Pre-Owned Agency Firearm - Bushmaster XM15-E2S - Anyone own or familiar with?

Thats weird. Ive tried to deal with them 3 times, twice they ignored me and when I called asking If I could drop buy and look at them they said the optic's weren't included... I guess if the optics are included its not that bad a deal, and like other posters said, they survived without m-4 ramps for years before the m-4 came out so for plinking purposes it might not be that bad of a deal.

Aah young grasshopper...per your FB message I'd be inclined to go ahead and pick one up. Some guys look at ARs in the context of "I'd it's not ready to deploy to Tora Bora it's junk". Oddly enough most of those guys couldn't find Tora Bora on the map, let alone run any risk of having to HALO into theater. For what you'll do with it you'll be perfectly happy with it. And if we succeed in getting the AR de-stricted you'll be well on your way to a dandy PD rig.

Just $.02 from Rae-Edzo.

I was that easy to find eh? Just look for the newb stumbling through the forums :)

Yeah - think I'm going to go for it. They actually offer AR15 Armourer classess at PO so I'd be very surprised if these wern't in good shape.

I'll be sure to let you know! ha:

I bought one last fall. $1400, including the TA11.
Some handeling marks on upper,.
TA11 is bright, has some marks on the body.
I was told the TA 11 had been recertified
Once cleaned up looked much better.
Even had a cleaning kit in the butt.
Overall a good rifle and optic.

Thanks - I was hoping to hear from someone who picked one up. I was a little worried about the optics so this helps...and I figure some marks add character. Other than that, how was the overall wear and tear on it? And have you had any issues?

No issues other than it needed a good cleaning.
Did have to buy a magizine as one was not supplied by P.O.
Also no manual for the optic or rifle.

I've got a XM15-E2S I bought new about two years ago. Paid $1,500+ taxes (Ellwood Epps) w. carry handle. 16" heavy barrel. I put a refurbed Elcan on it and it's been a dream. At 100 yards with good ammo I've had guys shoot 1"-1.5" groups. I'm usually around 2-3". It's far more accurate than I am.

Over the last 2 years I've put somewhere around 2,000 rounds through it, never a misfire or issue that wasn't ammunition or magazine related. And since I changed my hodgepodge of magazines out for all P-mags, no mag issues.

I have heard a number of people comment on the variable quality of Bushmaster, so maybe I just got lucky, or maybe it's just because it's a newer gun. Either way I've been very happy with it and people far more experienced than I who have used it for matches have had good comments as well.

Bushmasters are fine.

Most people who slag them aren't happy unless you own KAC, LMT, Noveske, Colt.

I can assure you, most people will never note any difference between a Bushmaster, Armalite, RRA and a high-speed, low drag brand.

Guess I was a little late in finding this offer. They only have one left and it does not have the TA11. It also is likely in need of gas rings (not sure if that is a huge deal though, but shows the weapon has seen some use) and has "pronouned" handling marks from use and vehicle mounting. Bolt carrier is full auto - again, not sure if this is something that would outweigh the cons.

$800 before tax + shipping.

I don't know...perhaps I'd be better off with a new Stag or something similar. From the general feel I get from ppl's thoughts, I'm thinking perhaps I should pass...

Cheap AR???

Have a look at Claven2's cheap AR build thread. If you're going to spend $800 on something used, go his route, I am. All parts including optics are going to be right around $1300.00 shipped taxes in. Should be a great rifle with quality parts. Just shop around for the right deal.

Bushmaster made around Y2K are not fine, 10.5 are worse than the 14.5. I will not touch any bushmaster made between 98 and 2000 just to be on the safe side. You cannot make a carbine work just by copying the "look". They were accurate carbines if you did not get a lemon. (shot 545 with a BM M4gery using ball ammo back in 2003ish) Unfortunately, there were quite a few lemons out there.

After the Y2K rush, their products started working again more often. They were considered (a distant)second to colt until LMT became known with its CQBR around 2003ish. LMT CQBR was such a big splash becaue it was the first 10.5" that actually worked back then. It is like a golden grail in the age where Colt was unobtainable, and the reliability of others are unpredictable.

There is a good reason the die-hard people stick with colt and LMT - because back in the old days 10.5" and 14.5" copies made by other people did not work too well. Things have vastly improved in the last 4/5 years. Most people were able to get theirs to work.

Thanks for all your input guys. I wish I was crafty/brave enough to tackle Claven2's build but instead, got a good deal on a Stag Model 4 from Arms East so I ordered one up.

Time to start saving for some optics!
