I'm sure most of you guys out there still use one of these and at about 50 or 60 rounds start to hate the damn thing. My neck starts to hurt and I get blurry vision looking at the fine painted line. WELL...was cruising over at the Snipers Hide when one of the members posted this. I damn near started crying how brilliant it was!!!!! Got my setup running today and its almost a joy to measure powder again. Didn't want to jeapardize my brand new laptop so I picked up a nice used one from Craigslist for $135 bucks and a new webcam for $40.

:eek::confused::eek:

I don't want to dump on your parade but spending my day writing software makes me want to reload so I can get away from the damn computer. That's my quality time. :)

EDIT: oh FOOYEY. It is a good idea though. I hate laptops but I think I'l get one. LOL!

Neccessity - The Mother of Invention !

This is a GREAT thread !!-- THANKS !! Definitely two excellent ways to solve an "age old" problem, (after 40 ish you constantly run out of "arm" to read the damn small print:mad:) The "benchrest .com" idea looks like a "try" for me , -- I'm too cheap to spend the $175.00 ---and I could be buying more components!

Any More GREAT IDEAS to Add ??

I already had the RCBS scale and I personally think that the beam scale is the way to go for accurate loading. The electric scales out there are awesome but from what I've heard from other reloaders they are super sensitive to everything - warming up, changes in the air currents of the room, etc. And for me the one that I want is up there in price ~ $500 bucks:eek:

If I were to get one I'd like to snag the RCBS Chargmaster combo...and again I've talked to guys that have had issues with it.

For now I like my beam scale with the webcam, its a cool setup :D

I think he mentions he talks about the flat screen on the wall on the other forum.

You reloaders are very nerdy ya know. :D

Cool idea. I need one of those webcams hooked up above our water meter. I have to clean out the whole damn closet to read the meter that is upside down from my perspective.

After seeing the post on Sniper's hide I tried the web cam idea and so far (about 200 rounds) I really like it. One stick of varget is a significant movement on the scale. I trickle each and every load and this is a big help.

I throw with the chargemaster combo, dump the charge into my beam scale to fine tune. With the web cam it is alot easier and quicker as well.

How much of a variation do you have with your chargmaster? Cause my reloading bench is going up in our shop (I guess having it beside the bed didn't fly well....) that the temperature fluctuates like heck, u think this would be a cause of concern?

It throws within +/- .1 of a grain. I set it to throw .1 below what I want and then I pour the charge onto my beam scale then trickle....not sure about what will happen if the temp fluctuates. Mine is in my basement so its in a cool spot but fairly steady as far as temp goes.

Ok, well as long as there isn't a .5 grain fluctuation i'll be happy. Plus when I'm re-loading the garage doors are not going to be opened and closed during that time, or for a day ahead of that. Plus those guys talking about EMF, the nearest electronic is a 30 year old radio-cassette player 20ft away lol.
