Precision/hunting rifle-2000$ budget without optics.

Yes, but that seems to be the issue with everything that has a flat trajectory.

No, not entirely true. The 6.5x47 is good for a lot more than that, and I think a .300WSM is too. A good old .308 is a sure bet if that's your concern. The 6.5-284 is known for chewing up barrels.

Would suggest a CTR in 260Rem that have been unobtainable in Canada. Luv my TRG22 but too heavy for hunting.

Could you give me a very rough estimate of what I could get with the gunsmithing included for 2000$?

Well, you can build something like this and have lots of fun with plenty of money left over... or you can use more expensive parts.

If you already have the action, adding a quality match barrel, trigger, base rings, good stock, finish... all possible. Really depends on the look you want and the application.

Or how about something like this?

With a budget like this and some careful parts choices, you can end up with a quality rig that will outshoot pretty much any factory rifle.

PM or email if you want to discuss further.

Enjoy the journey.
