Unforunately the ORA Precision Match for June 2nd has been cancelled due to a military requirement for the range. Replacement dates have been requested and I will post these as soon as they become available.

Ok this is what happens. If your date for whatever event is cancelled, it will be rescheduled to a later date. The whole program can not be shifted a day to compensate because the military wants to use their range.
Borden isn't the only DND ranges that have this problem. Cedar Springs has already been bumped one day this year and Winona's June 17th date has also been cancelled. Such is life since we do not own our own range.

Easier said than done. The program for the whole summer is ironed out starting in Jan. Each discipline chair is asked to submit dates for the summer program. Dates are juggled around so they do not conflict with matches going on at other venues whenever possible.

Now these dates are submitted to the DND in order to work around their needs for their range. CFB Borden isn't the only base that needs to be consulted. The ORA also has to work with CFB Kingston and ASU London.

Each base has it's own deadline to have dates submitted. Some will approve dates for the whole season, some only approve 3 months in advance.

So, if anyone wants to volunteer for a position on the program committee for next year, please forward me your name and I will gladly sumbit it for consideration.
 
That doesn't explain why a TR practice can't be changed to a PR match when the range is already booked. This coming match is the only one between now and NSCC, and the only one we will have before it. That's ridiculous!

A match should take priority over a practice. There are a ton of days booked for practices and many don't coincide with any other match. If the range is already booked, its just a matter of ensuring the proper target are there.

PR shooters are ORA members too, and they're really getting hosed this summer in regard to the matches. The ORA executive needs to step up to the plate and do what is right for these members.

Having shot Precision in the past and been frustrated with match cancellations, I agree with you Kris.
Even though I now shoot F and was at the practice on the 3rd, a MATCH should take precedence over practice.
This topic is up to the Directors to decide and should be brought there.
(as an afterthought....are DND cancellations generally occurring on Saturday scheduling more than Sundays)

The July 8th practice date would be a reasonable one to convert to a PR match. Plenty of time to send out the notice and arrange for targets. Mons is already booked on that date for ORA use.
